Dr Diarmaid Coffey – Irish Language with Conradh na Gaeilge
Otago has a rich heritage of Irish settlement – join us in celebrating St Patrick’s Day with friends and family at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum!
Dr Dairmaid Coffey established the New Zealand branch of Conradh na Gaeilge, an organisation focused on promoting the Irish language across the globe. If you’re looking to brush up on your Irish language skills, or you’ve never spoken the language before, join him at Toitū this St Patrick’s day for a fun introductory session to Irish.
Based around “seanfhocail” or Irish proverbs, Diarmaid will give a quick introduction to the language and its history in New Zealand before teaching the basics of pronunciation and some common phrases.
Learn with your friends and explore the Irish treasure that is their national language.
