What to do with a CD-ROM and floppy disk
Do you have documents saved on old CD-ROMs or floppy disks? Are you unsure how best to manage your digital files so you can still access them in the future?

In this session for World Digital Preservation Day, the Library’s Senior Digital Archivist will talk about how you can care for your digital files, how to look after physical storage media like USB sticks and CDs, as well as good practice in file naming, file organisation, back-ups, and using the cloud.

Bring your floppy disk
Attendees are welcome to bring in a 3.5 inch floppy disk or CD-ROM for assessment (time permitting).
Please note: if you are bringing a CD-ROM or computer disk, please also bring a USB drive to transfer the files on to it.
