Queering Poetry With Poet & Author Oscar Upperton

Welcome Welcome to this open mic event for the queer, the gender diverse, the lyrically inclined!

Whangarei is fortunate to have returned local and poet Oscar Upperton, son of celebrated poet Tim Upperton visiting as part of his book tour for New Transgender Blockbusters!

The evening will be a combination of social event, open mic, and reading by this excellent poet who was awarded the Creative New Zealand Louis Johnson New Writer's Bursary. With published material in Sport, The Spinoff, and Metro, and Best New Zealand Poems, we're in for a treat.

Oscar's work is called "witty, urgent, and unnervingly beautiful... vitally human and consoling."

This event is Zir Production's first co-production with a guest artist.
