If New Zealand remains at Level one COVID19 we will be reopening the historic Wrights Hill Fortress on Labour Day, Monday.
Enjoy self-guided tours for about one hour and view the labyrinth of underground tunnels built in World War Two to defend New Zealand from enemy attack.
Historic photos and a DVD of how a huge 9.2 inch gun fired on show, plus a weapons display and controlled blank firing outside.
Moderate admission charges, cash only please. No eftpos facility. Light refreshments also.
Limited vehicle parking at the top of the hill- but bush walks from the base.
On sale limited copies of an historical book, "Wrights Hill "by historian Peter Cooke. Cash only.
