From fledgling flyer to flight instructor and examiner, Dunedin aviator Brian Marston shares the ups and downs in his career as a general aviation pilot.
Brian outlines his time in aviation, from building and flying model aeroplanes as a youth in the Air Training Corps, subsequent service in the RNZAF, through to achieving the highest flying instructor qualification in New Zealand. He tells of the demands that a student pilot must meet to become a professional pilot, including an expert understanding of the aircraft itself, the flight environment of weather, physics of flight, human limitations, and aviation law.
Experiences along Brian’s remarkable flight path include mountain flying, mastering loops and barrel rolls, and working as a parachute drop pilot. He might even relay some of his spectacular night flying escapades!
Buckle up for a not-to-be-missed talk.
