Marlborough Book Festival: Anthony Phelps in conversation with Mike White - Anderson Theatre
Anthony heard his first punk song on Radio Hauraki 40 years ago, and it sparked a life-long love affair with the music, preferably played loud.
His recently published book, 'From AK79 to the Class of 81', brings together 180 of his photos from the punk scene of the late-70s and early-80s, including Toy Love, The Scavengers, and Screaming Meemees, as well as international acts like The Ramones, The Clash, David Bowie and Tina Turner. Anthony shares his music memories from behind and in front of the lens.
The 2021 Marlborough Book Festival runs from 7pm Friday 9 July through to 4.30pm Sunday 11 July with a range of author sessions on across at the weekend at the ASB Theatre, Blenheim. More info at the Marlborough Book Festival website.
