Guitarist and composer Chris Williamson returns to Wellington with a set of new original compositions – plus a few tunes from the cl-bob repertoire.
Based in London for a few years Chris played with Shabaka Hutchings (Sons of Kemet) as well as leading his own group fusing Middle Eastern and Jazz styles. Recently he’s been playing in the Bay of Plenty with Rio Hemopo (Trinity Roots), Paul Hoskin and Ben Wilcock.
For this performance he’s joined by local quartet Fire Waltz, (Blair Latham, Alistair Isdale, Rick Cranson and Leo Coghini), for some Wayne Shorter-inspired romps and sophisticated balladry.
