Be transported back in time to the small rural seaside community of Okains Bay in the early 1900s and take part in a unique game of heritage-based challenges and experiences to find your place in village life.

‘A Place Called Home’ is modelled on traditional treasure hunts, TV game shows such as “The Amazing Race” and the popular app “Stardew Valley”.

You will work with the ‘locals’ using heritage equipment to carry out specific tasks, such as blacksmithing, whip cracking, ropemaking, waikawa/weaving, butter making, needlework, home chores and much more.

There will be six individual and group tasks to perform, taking up to 20 minutes each.

Teams of up to five family and friends – or solo players – are encouraged to register early to secure your place in what will be a fun day out at Okains Bay Museum. Team numbers and session times are limited for maximum enjoyment.
