A small group, hands-on baking class with Italian native and professional bakery chef Alessia della Pietà who's got a strong passion for baking. She obtained a diploma in modern breadmaking art from the best culinary Italian school ‘ALMA’ and has been making yeast-based breads, pizzas and cakes for years before moving to NZ one month ago, where she currently makes pizzas in one of the nice vineyards in the Wairarapa.

Space is very limited due to hands on nature of the workshop!

In this small, hands on workshop, you'll learn to make an easy focaccia dough that's versatile and can be use the make sheet pan pizza as well! We'll decorate our focaccia for a festive look--perfect for Christmas parties! --using some delicious, vibrant toppings from our organic garden.

With the second dough we will prepare both crunchy grissini and yummy crackers, using seeds and different flours.

Each participant will bake and decorate their own focaccia to take home and we'll also bake extra to enjoy during the workshop with some olive oil and dips.

We'll also demo how to make a traditional basil pesto (great as a topping for the focaccia) as well as a sun-dried tomato dip we'll make with Italian heirloom tomatoes we dried in March from last summer's crop!
