Octavius is Napier's premier chamber choir, a small group of dedicated singers who perform music of all genres and eras. This concert will be an excellent example of the range of songs they like to sing - from composers of the 1800s, 1920s and 1930s - think Shakespeare, Stanford and Elgar - to George Shearing and Fats Waller, and contemporary stars like The Beach Boys, Billy Joel and Elton John. If you love Bye, bye Blackbird, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Walk like a Man, and the tunes from the movie Rocketman, you will love this selection.
Octavius was established in 2017 by Musical Director Anthony Tattersall, a man with a lifetime of experience singing in and directing choirs. The group performs several concerts each year in and around the Hawke’s’’ Bay. Their concert in Dannevirke last year was described by the reviewer as "a sublime choral experience” and “… a show not to be missed”.
So - if you love to hear an excellent choir singing some of your favourite songs, don't miss this concert!
