Calling all kids - For Conservation Week 2024 Take Action for Nature by heading to the Ahuriri Estuary to become a "Pest Detective" by making a tracking tunnel to take home. Learn about the native and endemic species that call the estuary home and then go on an epic Scavenger Hunt around the Estuary Loop track to find the DOC Ranger with a code word.

Tell the ranger four answers from your scavenger hunt to get the code word. Take a photo with the ranger and email the code word with your photo to have your photo posted on the Department of Conservation - Hawkes Bay Facebook page and go in the draw to win one of five of Andrew Crowe's awesome New Zealand nature guidebooks - Which New Zealand Bird, Which Native Tree, Which Native Forest Plant, Which New Zealand Seashell or Which New Zealand Insect.

All materials supplied so come along and have some fun.

Nau mai, haere mai, all welcome. Registration not essential however prior enrolment preferred to help ensure we have enough materials for all - Email: lmcnamara@doc.govt.nz.
