Author Talk: Turncoat - The Reality

The author of the best-selling novel Turncoat, Tīhema Baker (Raukawa te Au ki te Tonga, Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai, and Ngāti Toa Rangatira) will be talking about the reality that led to him writing Turncoat.
Released a year ago, Turncoat has been nominated for awards, become recommended reading for high school students and is recommended as a Tiriti resource by Spinoff. Tīhema has said that he wanted to put Pākehā in the shoes of colonised people - find out what happened in real life that made its way into the book.
