Join us and Greater Wellington on Saturday 27 July at Battle Hill for our final community planting day of 2024.
We’ll be planting native grasses to restore and enhance the mauri of our waterways.
This community event is an opportunity to meet and greet other passionate locals while we work towards restoring our streams.
To register for this event please email streamside.planting@poriruacity.govt.nz with your name and the number of people attending.

When: Saturday 27 July 1–4pm
Where: Battle Hill Farm Forest Park, 610 Paekākāriki Hill Rd, Pāuatahanui

You will need to bring:
gumboots or sturdy closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind
getting muddy
warm and waterproof clothing
sun hat and sunscreen
reusable water bottle.

We will provide:
plants and planting tools
kai
first aid trained staff
hand sanitiser
sunscreen.

Public toilets can be found on site.

Getting there:
There is vehicle access and parking at Battle Hill Farm Forest Park. Park your vehicle at the first car park by the public toilets and make your way back down the drive, following the branded flags until you see the gazebos. There will be staff from Porirua City Council and Greater Wellington in high vis who can help you find your way.
Event sign up/admin will be from 12.45pm with the event running from 1–4pm.

We appreciate you giving up your time to do some great mahi for Papatūānuku. Feel free to spread the word to whānau and friends to join you on the day!
