Gather your team and gear up for the ultimate showdown at this year's Battle of the Paddles! With teams of 4-6 people each competing in up to 4 raft races down the Grade 2 section of Te Awa Kairangi, it will be an epic day full of excitement and laughter for the whole crew! The day will start around 9am with races aiming to kick off at 9:30 and going all the way through until the final showdown at 4pm. Throughout the day there will be MCs commentating each race, many different prizes to be won and some yummy kai available thanks to some local food trucks.

This year we have over $10,000 worth of prizes to giveaway, including a helicopter access rafting trip for the team that takes out first place! If you're not gunning for first place don't stress, there are many other prizes to be won such as;
- Dive Course voucher from Dive Wellington
- 1 night stay at Parehua Resort in Martinborough for you and up to 4 others
- Axe throwing voucher for you and a mate
- Dinner vouchers to a number of different restaurants

Not only will you and your team have a blast at the event, but 20% ($300) of your team entry fee will support one of four local youth organizations, granting them an unforgettable adventure with Wellington Rafting. But that's not all - during the race, you'll not only be competing for your own glory but also aiming to secure an additional $1000 in funding for your selected Youth Organization if your team emerges victorious! The perks of outdoor adventures are boundless: team bonding, personal growth, boosting confidence, honing leadership skills, and mastering water safety. Plus, it's the perfect opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature for a soul filling experience. So, rally your crew, get ready to paddle, and let the adventure begin!

Spectators are able to watch the event from almost anywhere along the awa, the most suitable viewing spot being near the finish line at Maoribank rapid where the food, music and MCs will be.
