Lyuba Zhilkina is resident ceramist at The Kilns at Te Horo throughout June-July and will conclude her residency with an exhibition created during this time and fired in the Mirek Smíšek Arts Trust salt/soda kiln in a one day exhibition, Sunday 21 July at The Kilns.

In her words, Lyuba expresses gratitude "for having a Japanese mentor which has given her a vast respect for the simple traditional Japanese styles and shapes". She also enjoys the New Zealand studio pottery traditions. When you combine these two, plus her desire to push and twist these in new and exciting directions you get beautiful domestic ware. “I make... knowing what I am doing is for life…. to help make our lives more inspiring”.

We look forward to seeing you at this one day event, so mark it in your social calendar and start sharing and inviting your friends, Sunday 21 July 11-3pm. Car parking on site and Eftpos available.
