Cantorum’s Christmas concert this year commemorates Bruckner as well as celebrates Christmas. We sing his very well known ‘Locus Iste’ (conducted by our assisting conductor Cameron McConchie) and his Antiphon (in which Cameron sings the solo). The other prominent Church musician we commemorate this year is Stanford and we present his picturesque Magnificat in G (soloist Jackie Ponting).
Among our Christmas pieces is our commissioned piece written by Hannah Jones (a student from Auckland University). As usual we will also enjoy Michael Bell’s high calibre organ playing.
