Folk Dances from Bulgaria: Free Lessons. Bulgarians in Christchurch welcome all to a journey around the Balkans and back into the roots of the Slavic culture. The invitation is to celebrate together our folklore exploring the specific musical rhythms of the Balkans embedded in ten Bulgarian dances (four courses for beginners and one for advanced with two dances each). They were selected to represent the folk regions of Bulgaria, but the musical travel around the country will bring us closer to our neighbours on the wider Balkan area.
We hope you’ll challenge yourselves to learn more about our culture by joining the dancing group assembled too far away from our home region by spirit which bounds us beyond any borders.
