Free Lunchtime Concert: Organist Margaret Colway

The Friends of Christ Church Organ are excited to welcome Whanganui organist Margaret Colway back to present a concert at Christ Church on Wednesday July 3rd at 12:15!

She says the half hour concert will feature a selection of classical works along with some more modern songs.

Margaret learned piano in England. However, on becoming involved with St Laurence’s church in Aramoho, she became one of their regular organists. Over the years she has also played on a regular basis at St Andrews and St James.
“Eight years ago the opportunity came up for me to play at Christ Church”, she says. “This lovely organ was somewhat larger than those I had previously played but I really enjoy playing it for their traditional services.”
Margaret’s involvement with music at Christ Church also includes piano and vocals for their contemporary service and from time to time she has also played flute with the band.

Entry to the concert is free. A koha towards organ maintenance is much appreciated.
