Matuku Community Theatre promises “Happy Endings” in their new 2024 Season!

Sumner‘s community theatre company is debuting their new show, “Happy Endings: A Sumner Fairytale,” for its 2024 Season. The new season dares to ask (and answer) the question, ‘What comes after happily ever after?’ This enchanting fairytale for adults will run for eight nights, each Friday and Saturday, beginning 9 August 2024 at the Matuku Takotako Sumner Centre.
”After weeks of rehearsals, we are so excited for everyone to join in the fun. August is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to delight audiences with our fantastic cabaret show,” says Matuku Community Theatre President Jennifer Hay.

Hay continues, “Our wee community theatre group is a Sumner institution. Our cabaret-style variety show began over 50 years ago, but the first theatrical performance was in 1924. It’s an honour to be part of this tradition, and ‘Happy Endings’ is sure to bring happiness to all.’
