Haven Matariki w/ Mokotron

Haven are slithering back on to the grounds of the Galaxy Arcade for a Matariki special featuring the Ōtautahi return of Tāmaki electro and break-beat legend Mokotron.

Mokotron is a Tāmaki-based Māori producer from Ngāti Hine, who spreads seismic waves of low frequency Indigenous electronic music. Breakbeats, deep bass, puoro, karakia and mōteatea are utilised to create their dark, trauma driven tracks. The past few years have been big ones for Mokotron, with 2 EPs released on Spain's Electro Records and his Tawhito EP releasing in 2022 as well as an SRN award, his first live performances in 2023, and The United Tribes of Bass remix EP by Māori producers of Mokotron classics released this year.

Anyone who witnessed the last visit of Mokotron to the Haven sweat-box knows how special this performance will be - the live set will include puoro performances, robotic vocoder vocals, and live dub mixing throughout his signature Māori break-beat and dark electro tracks.
