In Praise of Music

The Pakuranga Choral and the South Auckland Choral, two community choirs based in South Auckland, come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pakuranga Choral.

Conducted by David Gordon and David Hamilton, this concert features three of New Zealand's young up-and-coming soloists: Antonia Brightwell (soprano), Ivan Zhang (tenor) and Blake Scanlen (bass), with organist Michael Bell and pianist James Liu as accompanists.

"In Praise of Music" includes Charles Gounod's first major work, St Cecilia Mass, and music by Haydn, Rutter, Hamilton, Goodall and Ritchie. It will be an inspiring concert for all classical music amateurs, followed by a delicious complimentary afternoon tea.
