Keep an eye out for pop-up performers around Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush and the Botanic Garden ki Paekākā. Enjoy performances from talented artists as you explore these beautiful natural settings.

Whether you’re wandering through the lush landscapes of Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush or strolling through the vibrant Botanic Garden ki Paekākā, you might encounter musicians, dancers, or other performers bringing their art to life. These surprise performances add an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit, creating memorable experiences in the midst of nature.

ŌTARI-WILTON'S BUSH: Forest Ambient w/ Kodama 木 and Pablo Kimono
10am and 1pm.

Kodama 木 and Pablo Kimono will take you on an evolving ambient sound journey, nestled beneath the canopy of Ōtari Wilton bush. Inspired by Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese concept of forest bathing, the soundscapes will intertwine with the sounds of Nga Manu and Ngahere to create tranquil healing experience.
Bring a blanket or yoga mat and unwind in the natural beauty.
Located in the Fernery, ~200m from the main car park.

WELLINGTON BOTANIC GARDEN: Naturally Shakespeare's Venus & Adonis
Roaming 10 am-11:15 am & 12:45 pm-2:15 pm. Main Gardens.
Interactive readings 11:30 am-noon & 2:30 pm-3:00 pm. Puriri Lawn.

Delight in happening on Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand (SGCNZ) Alumni as they wander through the gardens quoting from the Bard’s most famous poem, Venus & Adonis. Join them on the Puriri lawn from 11.30-noon or 2.30pm-3.00pm to participate in the interactive sharing of the poem’s enchanting verses, both concluding with judging of the Best Butterfly Competition.

This event is part of the annual Te Wā o te Kōanga - Spring Festival at Wellington Gardens. The festival runs for the whole month of September.
