Light in the Shadows - Introduction

Lesa Hepburn is a multi-disciplinary artist producing two and three dimensional works, installations, prints, and small edition multiples. Hepburn uses botanical fibres in a sustainable arts practice, working with available plant materials, recycled materials and low impact processes.

Her works in progress responding to the beauty of where she lives as well as the what happens below the surface. The premise of Lesa's works is the relationship between the cycles that occur in her papermaking practice. The spinning of the pulp, as it is agitated on its way to becoming paper, aligns with the spin of nature and life and the cycle of action and reflection.
