Cantando Choir presents an afternoon of sacred music featuring Rheinberger’s “Stabat Mater”, with choir, strings and organ. This complements other sacred songs including Bruckner’s “Os Justi”, a Gregorian chant inspired motet, sung a capella, Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus” and “Sure on this Shining Night” by Morten Lauridsen. The concert will conclude with Ola Gjeilo’s “Luminous Night of the Soul”,composed in 2012 for choir, string quartet and piano.

“We are thrilled to present this concert programme which spans a wide range of sacred music and which celebrates the beauty of the human spirit and the power of faith”, says Music Director Koli Jayatunge.

Featuring 60 choristers in Cantando Choir and:
Jono Dunlop - Piano and Organ
Harris Leung - Violin
Maia-Dean Martin - Violin
Chris Nation - Viola
Matthew Chanwai - Cello
