In her Oceanic debut, Smitha Rajan will grace the stages of Ōtepoti this October!

Internationally acclaimed Mohiniyattam performer, Smitha Rajan is well known for the spiritual intensity and personified grace she brings to the stage. The granddaughter of one of India’s finest classical dance performers - the (Late) Guru Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and the mother of Mohiniyattam (Late) Guru Kalamandalam Kallyanikutty Amma - Smitha comes from a very rich classical tradition spanning more than three generations.

The Opening Act will be performed by Classical Dance and Semi-Classical Dance students of MāyāDharā International Indian Dance School of New Zealand, directed by Emilie R.S. who is also an established international performing artist, member of the International Dance Council (UNESCO) and artistic director of the French Federation of Dance in Europe.
