Are you fascinated by the stars? Join navigation expert and former Senior Navigation Instructor, CDR David Hedgley (Rtd). and a group of NZ Navy Navigation Officers at the Navy Museum for a two-part workshop and discover the basics of navigating by the stars.

You’ll find out how to use a sextant, pick the stars and some interesting facts about the Earth.

In a second session on Maungauika – North Head you’ll learn how to use the Earth’s meridian to find your position, the importance of time and you may even be able to watch the spin of the Earth with your own eyes!
When?
Session 1: Thursday 29 February 7pm – 9pm
Session 2: Saturday 2nd March 11.30am – 1.30pm approx. timing to be confirmed.
Please note you need to attend both sessions. Numbers will be strictly limited so bookings are essential.
