NZ Mountain Film Festival 2024 National Tour

2024 NATIONAL MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL TOUR @ Waiuku & Pukekohe

The best of the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival prizewinning short films is once again coming back in Franklin at Waiuku Lions Station on Night 1 (Aug 10th) & Pukekohe Parkside School Hall on Night 2 (Aug 24th) with a double header as part of the NZ wide “Best of” Festival Tour. We’ll be screening the best NZ made and international films across two nights - two completely different film selections.

The Festival held in Wanaka & Queenstown in June 2024, is internationally recognised as one of the world’s premier mountain film festival events. It’s NZ’s original mountain film festival with an international adventure film maker’s competition, as well as a highly regarded NZ made division.

Pukekohe Tramping Club and the Lions Club of Waiuku have teamed up again to bring the 2024 Festival National Tour to Waiuku & Pukekohe after successful Film Festival in 2022 & 2023

The films will be screened at the Waiuku Lions Station, 2/50 Belgium Street on Aug 10th and in Pukekohe at the Parkside Specialist School Hall, 184 Wellington Street on Aug 24th. The Hall seats just 80 and our goal is a sell-out. All profits from the films will be used to provide a sponsorship package to either Outward Bound or Spirit of Adventure for a Senior College student who live in Franklin.

Online tickets sales via Eventfinda are $15pp Early Bird admission for either night, or a “Special” Two night Concession of $25pp. Online purchasers will incur a small Admin charge in addition to ticket prices. In recognition of current financial pressures in community, we have again not increased ticket prices since 2022.
Door sales (if any seats remain) will be $20pp cash only (NO EFTPOS)

NIGHT ONE - “PURE NZ NIGHT” - SATURDAY 10th AUGUST 2024 @ WAIUKU

Ice-creams & soft drinks will be for sale at venue.

7 Award winning NZ short films including an annual ski pilgrimage to Cass valley, the world of adventure filmmaking, a World Championship Adventure racing event in Fiordland, 3 teenagers Traverse of the Kahurangi National Park, a bicycle trip in mountains of Northern Parkistan, experimenting with packhorse access ski touring and a look at life of protagonist Hank Bilous.

NIGHT TWO - “AWARDS NIGHT” - SATURDAY 24th AUGUST 2024 @ PUKEKOHE

Time: Doors open at 6.30pm, films start at 7.00pm – 150 min duration
Ice-creams & Soft drinks will be for sale

4 different Award winning International short films including 73yr old South Bay, California surfing icon, attempting a new extreme climbing route up Nuptse Mountain in Himalayas, pushing limits of free diving, sailing access to a remote Greenland big wall and first ascent.
