American postminimalist artist Richard Tuttle created his lithograph/screenprint suite In Praise of Historical Determinisim in 1973 and 1974.
Tuttle describes the work as "an attempt to 'say' what history is, even as a suggestion of repetition, which we are 'determined' by and which can be expressed with a print".
