The bass trombone is a relatively unknown solo instrument, often relegated to the back row of ensembles. This recital reveals what transpires when you pair a bass trombonist with an internationally celebrated concert pianist. What are the sonic possibilities of such a collaboration and why on earth would Jian Liu agree to perform with a brute from the back row?!
