The largest Art Expo held in the Bay - over 500 original paintings

Tauranga Society of Artists (TSA) is the largest group of artists in the Bay of Plenty. With over 250 members, the TSA participates in a wide range of art genres and mediums, producing an astounding variety of original artwork. Following on from their previous highly successful Original Art Expos, the TSA is once again hosting another large and prestigious exhibition.

Where: Tauranga Boys’ College Gymnasium - corner of 14th Avenue & Devonport Road.
When: Thursday 3rd - Sunday 6th October - 9am -5pm (Sunday 9am - 3pm).

This exhibition continues with several popular features:

Jensen Supreme Art Award: this annual award is competed for by the Society’s members and judged by one of Tauranga’s leading artists. Come along and see if you agree with our judges selection this year.

People’s Choice Award: Sponsored by Gordon Harris (the Art & Graphic Store), this award gives all our visitors an opportunity to vote for their favourite painting. At the last exhibition over 1000 people voted, so come along and participate in this event and be in the draw to win an original artwork.

Tiny Art: In this category, society members display up to 4 miniature artworks, no larger than 150mm x 150mm, with a price cap of $150, making it an economical way to purchase an original artwork for the discerning collector and art buyer. This is also a superb opportunity to purchase art as a gift or present for friends and relatives.

Fine Art Prints: A new endeavour where some of our artists have released high quality reproductions of their original artworks.

Cards : Many of our artists produce cards and prints from their artwork. This has always been a very popular addition to the Expo.

Guest exhibitor: This year we have invited Tauranga Floral Art to participate in our Expo.

Live Art: Tauranga Society of Artists members demonstrate their tremendous range of skills. “Art in Action” includes all different mediums - oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel and many more. From portrait drawing to painting, from sketching to illustrating, all will be demonstrated at various times throughout the four days. So come along to meet and have a chat with our talented artists.

Please feel welcome to come and experience beautiful, creative and affordable art, all displayed in the very spacious and well-lit gym of Tauranga Boys’ College. (Plus there’s plenty of parking close to the venue).

The Tauranga Society of Artists offers members daily opportunities to be involved in workshops, open sessions, tutorials and friendship at their base Art Room in Elizabeth Street East. All their activities are designed to complement and build upon the creativity and skill that goes on in their own homes and studios.
