Noor ensemble was created especially for the recent “Sounds of Salam – Music from the Muslim World” music festival and Noor meaning “light” aims to bring people together in peace.

The ensemble adeptly incorporates Middle Eastern and South Asian rhythmic patterns and melodies into their musical repertoire, creating a sophisticated fusion of jazz with various global influences. The ensemble’s performances transport audiences to a cross-cultural intersection, where the convergence of genres becomes a harmonious celebration of musical diversity and artistic expression.

Featuring: Tamara Smith – flute, percussion, Pablo Ruiz Henao – Baritone Horn, Chris Dabinett - guitar, Mike Story – bass, Doug Brush – percussion, Fahim Imam – Drums/percussion
