This walk is part of the "Many Walks of Wellington's Streams" event for the Wellington Heritage Festival 2024. This approx two hour walk will start at the monument at the top of Tawatawa Reserve (off Quebec St - we will signpost directions from the road end), there will be two options for moving from the monument down to the Domanski bridge/Owhiro school site;
1. For keen walkers, we will walk down through Tawatawa reserve to the stream. About half an hour's walk. We will arrange to ferry people, taking this option, back to their cars on Quebec Street at the end of the walk.
2. For people who are not up for this level of energetic walk. A drive down from the monument to Happy valley road, a quick visit to our restoration site near the Jamison's towing building and then down to Domanski bridge/Owhiro school site to meet up with the walking group.
We will then walk beside the stream down to the curious critter station hosted by Mountains to Sea at Owhiro Bay school. *This section of the walk will also be open to walk-ups on the day.
For those with the time and energy we can take a 10 minute walk down to Owhiro Bay where the stream enters the Taputeranga marine reserve.

This event will have a capacity of 25 people and due to the length of the walk a reasonable level of fitness will be required.
All safety precautions will be taken by the hosts but participants will be required to sign a health and safety waiver to ensure they can take responsibility for their own safety during the duration of the walk.
Children under 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This event will have a reserve day of 09 Nov in the event of poor weather on the scheduled day.
This is a koha event.
*Please follow the Facebook Page to ensure you receive updates regarding the walk including any weather postponement.
