Can hydrogen help us in terms of a fuel of the future? The short answer is yes, but the extent of that will depend on the status of alternate solutions and the technology of hydrogen production. In this talk, Pr. Gordon will try to give an overview of New Zealand's energy needs and discuss some possible solutions and their potential impact. He will then talk about hydrogen as an energy source - the good, the bad and the tricky. The tricky being how to guarantee the hydrogen in green. Finally, Pr. Gordon will talk a little about our efforts to design and make photocatalysts for hydrogen generation.
