Tidepool Explore with MERC

MERC will be hosting a community tidepool exploring event on Saturday 24th August, where we will use the super low tide to find sea creatures and add to our iNaturalist Bioblitz project. Our instructors will guide and educate about the rocky shore environment.

What you can expect on the day:
- Participants arrive at Sir Peter Blake MERC from 2:30pm
- First group will leave from MERC with instructor guides at 3pm and head to the southern end of Long Bay.
- Last group leaves MERC at 3:45pm
- We will walk over uneven and sometimes slippery terrain.
- Low tide is at 4:42pm
- Please wear closed-toed shoes or gumboots
- Download iNaturalist app on your phone ready for use
- MERC will provide rocky shore identification guides
