In collaboration with the University of Waikato Wellbeing Hub and Creative Waikato, the Foyer Galleries at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts are opening up to the University's community as a space for artistic expression and wellness. Come by to try out one of our artistic activities or simply relax and recharge in a creative environment.
During this exhibition period, we're switching things up. Instead of just viewing art, we're inviting you to be the artist in our 'Vacant Space' of the Foyer Galleries. Creative Waikato developed the 'Creativity Every Day' programme based on research showing that access to creativity significantly boosts wellbeing. Now, you can access that creativity right here on campus!
The four gallery spaces that make up the Foyer Galleries will share different inspiration from the 'Creativity Every Day' programme, as well as pieces from our own University of Waikato art collection to spark your creativity. Dive into colourful Post-its, extensive doodling surfaces, collaborative poetry scrolls, and nostalgic felt dioramas—all designed to help you blow off exam, work, and life stress in creative ways!
