Weaves of the World exhibition is a collection of heritage cultural costumes, textiles and artefacts celebrating the rich multicultural and ethnic diversity of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Throughout history, textiles and accessories have uniquely expressed identity, communicated stories, and reflected centuries-old traditions, values, and beliefs. Standing at the intersection between cultures, textiles bring us together through their beauty and vibrancy and enable us to celebrate diversity.

This exhibition celebrates both the uniqueness and similarities between various multicultural ethnic communities in Aotearoa and highlights how they have been connected throughout history by their textiles.

The curation of this exhibition draws from our extensive private textile collections, complemented by contributions of gifted and loaned items from fellow textile enthusiasts and intrepid travellers.

Come and enjoy a rich display of cultural and heritage attires, textiles and accessories from:
- New Zealand - Maori and European
- Pacifica
- Japan (little-known unique weaves)
- Korea
- China
- South East Asia
- Tibet
- Bhutan
- India (special textiles from all regions)
- Pakistan
- Turkmenistan
- Afghanistan
- Middle East
- Africa
- Europe
- Latin America
