Whaia Te Ara O Te Kareao: Follow the Path of The Kareao

Join Ngāi Tahu researchers, historians, kaimahi, and friends as they share the stories behind some of their favourite taonga from the Ngāi Tahu Archive. Kareao is the official website of the Ngāi Tahu Archive. Named after the ubiquitous supplejack, Kareao is an apt metaphor for the website which leads from one point to another, linking, connecting, and ultimately taking explorers in myriad directions of discovery. Kareao provides unprecedented access to the Ngāi Tahu Archive, which includes manuscripts, photographs, maps, biographies, oral histories, taonga, and audio-visual material.
