Keen to get involved in Conservation week 2024 in Queenstown?

Come join us at the historic One Mile Reserve in Fernhill to help control Wilding conifers and protect our natural landscape for a few hours on Sunday the 8th of September at 10am.

NZ’s number one pest plant, wilding conifers (aka wilding pines) are introduced, self seeded trees growing where they are not wanted. Their seeds blow many kilometres to infest the sensitive Whakatipu alpine landscape while decimating biodiversity.

Thanks to our friends at Segway on Q and Ziptrek Ecotours we have one experience from both companies to be given away via raffle to attendees that show on the day!
Thanks so much to our sponsors!

What's involved?
We will be pulling and lopping Wilding pine saplings for a few hours in the reserve (weather permitting).

Do I need previous experience?
No, not at all. A reasonable level of fitness is all that's needed, we will provide hand tools, gloves, and training on the day.

Can i bring the kids?
Sure! it's great to get the kids involved early protecting what's important.

What do we bring?
Some good footwear (think hiking boots), plenty warm layers, your water and snacks.

How do we get involved?
Just copy and paste the link below to fill out a short form with a few details and we will get back in touch:
