Whaea Blue, the highly anticipated memoir by Talia Marshall (Ngāti Kuia, Rangitāne o Wairau, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Takihiku) is moving, haunting, funny, intelligent, and brutally honest. Talia writes about the kēhua that haunt her, her trips back to her whenua, her tīpuna, relationships and wāhine friendships, relations she recognises and meets all over the country, and an ability to see tohu everywhere—in birds, in trees, and in the things people say. See Talia in conversation with Megan Dunn.

Writers on Mondays events are open to everyone and free of charge.

Writers on Mondays is presented by the International Institute of Modern Letters and The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. The 2024 series will run from 12.15—1.15 pm each Monday from 8 July to 30 September 2024 at Te Papa Tongarewa and Circa Theatre, with two special evening sessions at Meow.
