Holding Space and Ellen Melville Centre are proud to present the Young Blood Series, focused on supporting our rangatahi and developing their musical talents.
Join us on Saturday 12th October 6pm-9pm for the last event in our Ellen Melville series for a slick, fun Showcase to celebrate and encourage our creative Youth in live performance (18 and under).
There will be full back-line* and experienced music mentors around so it’s great for bands but we’ll also have solo / small acts the first half of the event.
To book a slot or more info - email: holdingspaceaoteaoa@gmail.com or txt Ema on 0212322593.
Family and friends can RSVP to this event page.
Slots will vary from 5 - 20 minutes depending on the act. All levels are welcome.
*Back line includes: Drums, Bass Amp, Guitar Amps x2, 3 x foldbacks, 4 x mics/stands, guitar cables.
Please note we will be upstairs in the Women’s Pioneer Hall.
Doors will be open from 5.30pm
We will be hosting a Songwriting Workshop for a Youth Recording Project beforehand so check out our website for details.
Parking.
We’ve found that the best priced parking close by is the Victoria St Carpark around the corner but you can get lucky with parks near Chancery Street, High street or on the surrounding side streets. (There are parking meters.) You can double park right near Ellen Melville to unload your gear if you need to at least before parking or just dropping off.
Public Transport.
There are plenty of buses and trains running close by.
Britomart Train Station is an 8 minute walk to Ellen Melville.
This is an all ages, free event to attend. No alcohol permitted on site.
Supported by Waitematā Local Board.
