Christchurch Symphony Orchestra

Sixty years ago the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra was formed to foster the exceptional talents of musicians who lived in the city, and delight audiences.  Today, the orchestra actively contributes to the cultural diversity of the community through a full and varied concert season, and since 2013 Eventfinda has been their ticketing partner of choice.

“After the earthquakes we found ourselves going into transitional venues, rather than traditional concert halls with a specified ticketing partner. During this time we were looking to develop a much closer connection to our audience,” says Michelle Walsh, Marketing Manager for CSO.

“We wanted an online platform that we could manage ourselves, that would give us full control of our customer data and enable us to manage our own front of house. Eventfinda could deliver all of this and more.”

Walsh says a major advantage of the system, in addition to the cost and ease of use for both the CSO team and patrons, is the ability to see ticket sales in real time.

“At any time we can go into the platform and see who’s attending an event. That data is our data, which means we are able to engage with our patrons directly about other events in the season and develop deeper relationships with them – we don’t have to wait for a list to be delivered because the information we need is always at our fingertips.”

Being able to manage their own front of house is of immense value to CSO. “We like to have that connection to the audience. It means we can provide a more seamless customer experience and troubleshoot any issues on the spot,” says Walsh.

“We operate on the basis of working with partners that get what we do and we see Eventfinda as a partner. We admire the fact that the team is always looking for ways to be innovative and improve - they don’t stand still. The team is always open to discussing different ways of doing things, and they react and make decisions quickly.”
