Ticket Information
The Bledisloe Light Boxes are located in the Bledisloe Walkway between Aotea Square and Wellesley Street in Auckland’s CBD. The light boxes offer artists, curators and arts organisations the opportunity to exhibit in a unique format in a high-profile location. The aim of the Light Box programme is to exhibit the work of innovative contemporary artists. The Light Box programme meets two of Council’s key expectations for public art by “creating richness” through the diversity of artists’ expressions and stories over time; and “generating surprise” through exhibitions that will surprise, delight and challenge over time.
There are a total of six fixed wall-mounted light boxes. Five are 1840mm wide x 1000mm high; and one smaller one, 550mm wide x 1000mm high, which is generally used for exhibition signage. Between three and four exhibitions featuring the work of both individual artists, and curated group exhibitions are held each year. The closing date for submissions is the last working day of February and August each year. See our website for more information.
