This boutique classical music festival brings together some of New Zealand's foremost professional musicians in three one-hour concerts over the course of a single weekend.
Friday evening opens with three esteemed Auckland musicians – James Jin (violin), Dominic Lee (cello) and Xing Wang (piano) – playing piano trios by Shostakovich and Dvorak.
On Saturday, the BonaNZa Trombone Quartet presents a programme of works by Beethoven, Brückner, Webern, Chaulk, Apon and Serocki. BonaNZa is New Zealand’s premier and only trombone quartet. Its players are David Bremner, Douglas Cross, Matthew Allison and Shannon Pittaway, who are all leading trombonists in the NZSO or Auckland Philharmonia.
For the Sunday matinee we welcome back some Festival favourites – NZSO violinist and Festival Artistic Director Simeon Broom, violist Helen Lee, and NZ Chamber Soloists’ James Tennant (cello) and Katherine Austin (piano) - playing Debussy and Brahms.
Founded in 2016, the Mt Eden Chamber Music Festival offers truly world-class performances all in the intimate setting of this beautiful Mt Eden venue. Book tickets at info@edenarts.art
